How SCADAmate works

One site runtime sits beside your PLC. The desktop app, the phone app and the optional AI assistant all use that same runtime, with the same permissions and the same audit trail.

SCADAmate architecture Your PLC connects over Modbus TCP, OPC UA or EtherNet/IP to the site runtime, which sits beside it. The desktop app, phone app and optional AI assistant use the runtime, and remote access reaches it through an outbound hub and relay connection. The PLC keeps control and safety. Design decisions that matter on a plant

The PLC owns control and safety

Every command from SCADAmate is a request. The PLC decides, and can refuse (for example, a restart on a latched fault). Maintenance mode only suppresses notifications; it is never an interlock bypass. SCADAmate does not replace safety systems, gas-detection shutdowns or your emergency procedures.

Local-first

The site runtime works with no internet. Remote access is an option, not a dependency, and a lapsed subscription never deletes or locks away your data. Alarms, trends and records stay readable.

Outbound-only remote access

Remote sign-in goes through a hub and relay that the site connects out to. There is no inbound port to open on your control network, and the relay forwards authenticated sessions to the site.

Every change is attributed

Every action takes an actor and is written to an audit log. Permissions are per role, per component and per capability. Structural changes on a live site go through a change request. Sign-in supports two-step verification.

Your AI, your rules

The assistant is optional and off by default. It uses your own AI tool, connected to the site's tools, and it sees what you see. Secrets, licensing and money approvals stay with people. Plant control is still the PLC's decision, however a request arrives.

Not a rebuild of your plant

Start with a read-only connection next to your current SCADA. Map the points you care about, compare, and move at your own pace. Manufacturer-style equipment templates for common compressor families speed up mapping (defaults to verify against your plant).

Connectivity and platforms

AreaWhat's implemented
PLC protocolsModbus TCP, OPC UA and EtherNet/IP drivers behind one driver interface, plus the plant simulator used in the demo.
DesktopElectron and React app for engineering, commissioning and live operation. Windows, macOS and Linux builds exist (unsigned while in evaluation).
PhoneReact progressive web app, installable on iOS and Android. Alarm acknowledgement, equipment lookup and location, service sheets, handover notes, push notifications.
Alarms and pagingPriorities, on-delay, deadband, acknowledgement, escalation, shelving, on-call roster, push and Twilio-compatible SMS and voice paging.
RecordsCommissioning sessions and sign-off, service sheets with signatures, maintenance schedules (runtime, starts, calendar), documents with versions and search, audit log export.
RuntimeNode.js 22, TypeScript. Runs on a plant PC or small server beside the PLC.
Where we are

From simulation to your plant

SCADAmate is substantially built. Here is how far each part has been taken, and what a pilot site adds.

Built and demonstrated

Running on a full plant simulation

  • Desktop and phone apps
  • Alarms, trends and diagnostics
  • Commissioning, maintenance and service records
  • Roles, sign-in and audit log
  • AI-assisted investigation (the demo here is a scripted replay)

Try it on the live demo.

Tested against simulators

Proven in the lab, not yet on site

  • PLC drivers: Modbus TCP, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP
  • Remote access through an outbound hub and relay
  • Phone push notifications and SMS or voice paging, tested end to end before any pilot installation
Next: a real plant

What a pilot site adds

  • A real PLC connection
  • Behaviour on a real plant, over months of operation
  • Your feedback on what matters most
